Adult Skills Funding will be devolved to strategic combined authorities and as HSC is one of the priority sectors for both (adult social care contributes 2.7bn to West Yorkshire’s economy and 1.07bn to York and North Yorkshire) they are keen to hear from employers how this funding can be better utilised. Aquila Choudry from Love in Care (I remember her from my time in Bradford but I believe she also has a presence in Leeds too) has recently become president of the Chamber.
