On the WDF list of funded qualifications and learning Skills for Care have identified several level 5 diplomas that won’t be funded after the 2021-22 funding year. Skills for Care understand that some employers are unsure of the changes that are taking place with the level 5 so have clarified this below in the context of the Workforce Development Fund.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (England) – Adult pathways
This qualification will not be funded by the Workforce Development Fund (WDF) beyond this current funding year (2021-22). This qualification is now several years old and has been superseded by the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care.
The existing qualification will close to new learners in May/June 2022. Subject to funding for the WDF being confirmed for 2022-23, employers will be able to continue to claim WDF in the 2022-23 funding year as existing learners complete the qualification.
A new version of the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Adult Care will be released June 2022. It will be available for funding in 2022-23, subject to funds being confirmed – however we do not anticipate any learners will complete this qualification within that funding period due to the size of the qualification. The qualification numbers should be checked against the most up to date WDF funded qualification and learning list before commissioning the qualification.
